This article and digital dictation have a lot in common. Perhaps they should be merged, or at least reflect each other's existance? --Malcohol 12:19, 4 August 2005 (UTC)
- digital dictation now redirects to Dictation machine. ~Kvng (talk) 18:43, 20 May 2024 (UTC)
Analysis by synthesis
[edit]Analysis by synthesis and Analysis-by-Synthesis redirect here, but currently article has no mention of this method. — Rxnt (talk) 20:09, 27 April 2011 (UTC)
Logarithmic companding for music
[edit]Speech coding#Sample companding viewed as a form of speech coding gives some detailed reasons why companding would work for speech but not music but does not include a citation. These seem a bit dubious to me. There's no discussion of this limitation in μ-law algorithm or A-law algorithm. dbx (noise reduction) is a simple companding solution that works effectively for music in the analog domain. ~Kvng (talk) 20:59, 17 July 2023 (UTC)
