Citing

[edit]

Here is a template for citing from Spectrum articles (see its archives). It is filled in (as much as possible) from the {{cite journal}} template listed at Wikipedia:Citation templates. Using templates helps to give a standard look and feel. Colin MacLaurin 15:07, 22 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Reverted material

[edit]

Recently some changes were made which I think were largely very helpful, however I have reverted some of the deletions as I think it is good material. Of course, this is open to discussion. However much of the other material was from reputable sources. Please give a reason if you believe it should not be included. In particular, the neutrality and factuality of the July/August 1998 article in Adventist Today regarding Roy Branson has been disputed. I look forward to further discussion on how to improve this article. Knowledgeable editors interested in this articles may also be interested in progressive Adventist, an article I have almost exclusively written so far, but would like to see contributions from a wider "Spectrum" (sorry...) of editors. Please read up on the policies and guidelines (start from WP:HELP perhaps). The Wikipedia:Ownership of articles policy states that users cannot "own" a page - this even includes editors who may be associated with the subject. Wikipedia:Citing sources explains that article should have good citations from reputable sources. Wikipedia:Neutral point of view is a fundamental policy worth reading as well... Much of the material is a copright violation, as it was copied straight from the Spectrum website. Wikipedia text must be under the GNU Free Documentation License, and the website material presumably is not in this public domain category. Colin MacLaurin (material originally written on September 18 replaced, after anonymous editor removed it)

I humbly request that Adventist Today topics be covered in the Adventist Today wikipedia article and that factually incorrect material, even that which appears in print in other publications, not be present in this wikipedia article.
If you need help establishing the history of Adventist Forums or Spectrum I would suggest contacting Adventist Forums itself.
This statement has been disputed; and so I have removed it from the article for now: "Although when the Adventist Today publication was founded, Spectrum enquired about a partnership under the parent body, the Association of Adventist Forums, the parties decided that a partnership would not be valuable to the overall goals of the two publications.[1]" Colin MacLaurin 22:38, 24 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
