Decommissioned bannered US 278?
[edit]Regarding this line;
"One more existed in the past but has since been decommissioned."
Would this happen to be the U.S. Route 278 Bypass (Warrenton, Georgia)? Because I still see it on Google Maps. ---------User:DanTD (talk) 14:21, 19 May 2016 (UTC)
- I have driven the entire highway above. It is technically a four-way concurrency: U.S. Route 278 Bypass (Warrenton, Georgia), U.S. Route 278 Truck (Warrenton, Georgia), Georgia State Route 12 Bypass (Warrenton), and Georgia State Route 12 Truck (Warrenton). It is five when you include Georgia State Route 80. Charlotte Allison (Morriswa) (talk) 21:56, 19 May 2016 (UTC)
- I saw the section with SR 80 there too. I'm going to include this when I expand this section. Did you check the mileage of this route? ---------User:DanTD (talk) 14:31, 20 May 2016 (UTC)
- Couldn't you just use Google Maps? I'm not sure if GDOT has any type of mileage log on their website. Charlotte Allison (Morriswa) (talk) 21:05, 20 May 2016 (UTC)
- The Warrenton Bypass was approved by AASHTO in 1989 and appears on its current log book. So I don't see what the issue is, it's official and it shows that on Google Street View too. --WashuOtaku (talk) 21:50, 20 May 2016 (UTC)
- Did either of you see a topographical map of Warrenton from Historic Aerials Online? Evidently most of the bypass used to be part of Georgia State Route 16, and the existing section north of that was Georgia State Route 12 Connector (Warrenton). ---------User:DanTD (talk) 12:28, 21 May 2016 (UTC)
