Second cirle : I never read that police's unit RAID is part of COS, and it seems highly unlikely because it's a Police Nationale unit and not a Gendarmerie Nationale. To make a comparison, FBI Hostage Rescue Team is not part of SOCOM. Well, it's difficult to be relevant abour Gendarmerie because USA nor GB have such " army "... Well I remove and add others units, according to [1] Rob1bureau 15:45, 5 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The section referencing the "Purple Heart" award is wrong. The Purple Heart is not the "highest honor," it is awarded for being wounded or killed in action. The Medal of Honor is the US military's highest award. — Preceding unsigned comment added by JollyRoger9 (talkcontribs) 04:36, 19 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I think all this article should be re-written : officially, there never had been any first, second or even third circle. There are : - Units under the command of the COS (Special Forces) - Units not under the command of the COS (Not Special Forces)

The 17ème régiment de Génie parachutiste is not under the command of the COS, neither is the GIGN. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pelomar (talkcontribs) 16:25, 10 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]
An image used in this article, File:GRAPPECPA10.JPG, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Copyright violations
What should I do?

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Commons Undeletion Request

Your illustation image for the COS is not right. This is the BFST patch (army part of COS). The COS symbol is a crossbow. Can find it on the net.
