I've tagged article for expanding. This was a major and pivotal case for community organizing and empowerment of LGBT and kink communities. In the most outlandish case, gay couples engaging in consensual BDSM behavior were arrested with the top being prosecuted for aggravated assault and the bottom for being an accomplice to their own assault. careers (and lives) were ruined with several of the defendants committing suicide.
