Datu Piang's role

Datu Piang's father was Chinese and his mother was Moro. He played a major role in the Moro reaction to the Spanish advance on Mindanao in the late 19th century.

A source of problems from Spanish times to the early years of Americans control were the juramentados, Moro swordsmen who attacked and killed aggressors.
