Two years ago, I took the photo below of a dragonfly. It used to be on the main dragonfly page but since it's not being used there anymore there, I thought it might as well be moved here to the specific species. One wikipedia user identified it as a Southern Hawker. Since it's a closer photo and of better resolution than the current photo with this article, I propose replacing it.

It'd be helpful to have a second positive ID of the insect below as a Southern Hawker. I don't know much about insect identification, but a google image search of Southern Hawker turns up some images of similar looking insects. If I don't hear any objections, I'll probably replace the current photo with the one below in a few days. mennonot 00:25, 3 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It is a Southern Hawker, the existing image was mine, so I'll make the change. jimfbleak 06:34, 3 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Blue darner or Blue darter?

[edit]

Has anyone researched and confirmed "darner" as opposed to "darter" which seems to be a more common name for a number of species. Rotational (talk) 10:00, 8 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
