im born n raised n soufeast daygo n i ain neva understood why people outside da city think SD (the whole city) is like malibu or sumthin or beverly hills or whatever. Ive been around, baltimore, paso, houston, atlanta, charolette and they aint shit to da southeast well at least da hoods i wus in but yet they still got more shine and respect then good ol' SE SD. Can someone explain to me why San Diego has this clean cut image when LA ryte up da road has the rep dat it does...
San Diego seems like that because we are in the shadows of LA they take all the fame in Southern California. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.220.21.74 (talk) 16:19, 21 July 2008 (UTC)
SESD, LA, and Oakland are soft compared to the hoody areas of NYC, Baltimore, Chicago, New Orleans, and Detroit. I've been to all those cities, and the true "ghettos" in those cities. Don't kid yourself..I'd rather live in SESD than any of those other hoods. And if you were really in the hoody area of Baltimore, you would have realy noticed the difference between SESD and Baltimore. SESD is paradise compared to Baltimore's hoods.
Removed Tom Waits and Rosie Hamlin from Southeast San Diego residents Both of them grew up in the South Bay (National City), not in Southeast San Diego. Although they did attend middel school in SESD (both O'Farrell, Hamlin also attended Granger Jr High in National City). Waits graduated from Hilltop High (Chula Vista), and Hamlin, who also went to High School outside of National City, attended Mission Bay High ( West San Diego). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.220.80.234 (talk) 08:44, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
Added Kevin Mitchell (from Mountain View)-major league baseball, Faizon Love (from Emerald Hills)-Big worm on Friday!, Gangsta Ern (from Mountain View), rapper who helped pioneer the SD ganster rap scene . —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.220.80.234 (talk) 09:06, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
Removed Webster, Ridgeview, and Oak Park from list of neighborhoods. Even though these neighborhoods are in District 4 9which covers the majority of Southeast San Diego), they are considered part of the East San Diego are. Added the neighborhood of Memorial to Central Neighborhood list, moved Southcrest and Shelltown to the Southeast Neighborhood list. Condensed the N and S Bay Terraces into Bay Terraces, (but kept the subdivisions in parentheses), and expanded the Encanto and Skylines Hills neighborhoods by showing thier subdivisions in parentheses. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.220.82.173 (talk) 22:59, 8 September 2009 (UTC)
Removing the words "previously undeveloped". I lived in that area in 1980's. It was apartment building style navy housing. They tore out the old neighborhood completely including the old streets, but it was different navy housing before the "townhouse" style homes came in. This is not original research as I am not using this to justify putting information in. The link cited is dead, so we don't know what it said. I am taking info that I know to be false and that is not backed up by a current citation out of the article. Gripdamage (talk) 20:40, 15 March 2015 (UTC)

Barrio Logan
[edit]It is not presently considered part of this portion of the City of San Diego. Should it still be included in this article, is it outside of this article's scope?--RightCowLeftCoast (talk) 05:22, 24 May 2018 (UTC)
