Proofreading, sentence structure

[edit]

This article is just an unpunctuated list of foodstuffs. There is no narrative or hierarchical structure. It needs to be rewritten because it is currently indecipherable and rather useless. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.108.246.248 (talk) 13:33, 16 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It is a very useful not useless as you see. This cuisine served as 5 districts food in the country. (F5pillar---/ Let's talk🖋📩) 07:07, 9 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

South Indian Rice

[edit]

In South India, it seemed to me that the rice was different from that of other parts of the country. Especially it was different from the fragrant "basmati" types that are favored in the north. I thought it was starchier with a bit of earthiness.

There is some mention of a "Ponni" rice, but no Wikipedia article that really describes this. So I hope someone much more knowledgeable than I will discuss rice varieties in South Indian Cuisine. LADave (talk) 12:44, 22 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

North Karnataka cuisine

[edit]

"Most of them are run by Veerashaiva and are vegetarian, but Khanavalis serving non-vegetarian food are not uncommon." This is awkward phrasing. A suggestion would be to make the sentence shorter by saying "It is not uncommon for Khanavalis's to serve non-vegetarian foods" User:Leuven2015 Leuven2015 (talk) 03:29, 1 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Clean up and Organizing

[edit]

Hello, since North Indian cuisine page was organized and simplified, this page needs similar attention. There are several problems with this page that i will highlight below:

  • Majority of the page is unsourced.
  • Several paragraphs are written like essay with poor grammar. Again, entirely unsourced.
  • Page is cluttered with random images.
  • Lacks structure and does not cover basics.

I have organized and simplified this page, cleaned up as much as possible. I have expanded sources reverent to the topic.117.198.116.39 (talk) 19:29, 12 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello User:Sarah SchneiderCH, please take note of the problems highlighted here and multipal issues tag on the page itself. I have highlighted the problems here before the edit. Page was simplifed for a reason, similar to North Indian cuisine page. Most of the South Indian cuisine page was entirely unsourced.117.198.116.39 (talk) 19:42, 12 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Overview

[edit]

"Overview" section is entirely unsourced. It is written like blogpost/POV essay without sources. This unsourced section is not necessary since each regional cuisine page addresses these topics in detail.

  • Please keep the page clean.
  • Citations are always needed.
