Anime vs Manga vs Novel Plot?

[edit]

I've watched the first series of the anime, but has anyone read the manga enough to know if it's similar? The current character descriptions don't match the first season of the anime. Sosei 12:23, 28 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The plot in the manga spans through several smaller plots rather than a one large one, like in the first anime series. In the manga, the tale of Bloody August and the Sword of Baltanders is more like a mini-arc that spans through only a little bit more than a volume of the manga. It has a lot less details and backstory than in the anime series, forcing one to assume that some details were created to extend the plot of the anime. However, let someone else go into the subject. I haven't read all of the manga as of yet. -Vance Finiraldi 06:12, 3 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe they did use for that, what was written in the novels, since the novels did exist before all those adaptions into manga and anime were made. But I really dont know, since I cant know what is exactly written in the novels. --Stan T. Lor (talk) 09:47, 10 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Orphen(character Bio)

[edit]

"He comes off as a "badass" kind of guy, one who seems to not really care for emotions..." This seems to describe the charcater in a non-wikipedia type way. It could be peacock terms and even original research at some parts. I think this part or possibly his entire bio should be re-written. It seems "unproper" to me. I guess what could be written(at the end of the bio) is "Fans say he comes off as a 'Badass type guy' and he plays the part of an anti-hero in the anime" or something along those lines. The way its written right now is not propper at all. Some other characters need an edit here and there too, peacock terms are everywhere. Prede (talk) 06:02, 29 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I mostly fixed all the character bios' yesterday. Orphen needed the most work, but I am satisfied with how it looks now. If there are anymore peacock terms or original research please feel free to edit it, and fix it. I did not see the entire series, although I am familiar with the show, and saw lots of episodes, so if I added any inncorrect information please change it :) - Prede (talk) 23:29, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Spell List Suggestions, thanks, etc.

[edit]

Thanks so much for putting up the spell list! I was going to suggest we write something about the spells but whoever did that went above and beyond what I would have done. The only downside is it does take up a lot of space, so if this artcile gets to cramped we could always make a new page for "Orphen Spells" or whatever. But as of now it's still short enough. Thanks again ^.^ - Prede (talk) 00:49, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I created a table/chart to better orginize the Spell List. I hope you guys like it. Does it look good? Anything to change in it? Comments or Concerns? Am I talking to myself? - Prede (talk) 04:16, 16 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The orginal Spell list will be posted here for referece.

  • Why was the spell list deleted? I spent a lot of time turning this list into a chart, and another user spent the time creating this list of spells and then it was deleted without even a comment? With no mention in the talk pages? IF it is too long or not appropriate ok, but let's discuss it not just delete it without any discussion. 168.229.186.1 (talk) 20:22, 6 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
This is WP:FANCRUFT, and should be relegated to Wikias, not Wikipedia. Knowing the format of how he casts spells has little or no value here. The spells themselves are also not independently notable. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 22:27, 6 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

God Almighty

[edit]

This article needs serious work. While it's true that it's a light novel series, it's hard to find any English sources about the light novels because they've never been translated. reliable sources on the manga and anime are even more scarce, and I'm pretty certain there are no reviews of either from notable third party sources, save maybe a few editors for Anime News Network. Help salvaging this thing would be greatly appreciated. -waywardhorizons (talk) 19:34, 5 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Missing

[edit]

I think there is a missing spell from episode 10 of orphen revenge at approximatly 8:23 (when orphen makes a heated magic orbit for Lycoris to hold) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.79.80.243 (talk) 04:02, 7 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Missing

[edit]

These spells lists should have all the spells from all the characters in the anime as well...episode 11 @ approx 19:56 majic uses a spell to protect eris...can't find the proper romanization anywhere — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.79.80.243 (talk) 22:55, 8 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

the title

[edit]

As a fluent speaker of Japanese, I assure you 魔術士 does not by any stretch translate to "sorcerous stabber." It means a conjurer. 魔術師 is the more conventional way to write this word but sometimes 士 is used because it has a similar meaning and pronunciation to 師. The first two characters, 魔術, mean conjuring, and the last is a suffix meaning "one who practices." Therefore, it is conjurer. On the plus side, reading "sorcerous stabber" made me laugh. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.79.238.51 (talk) 20:51, 3 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
