Date of birth

[edit]

The French entry states that she was born in 22 April 1988. It confirms it with the following references:

I can see that the page is semi-protected because of biographic details, so I wanted to ask whether social media accounts of the person the entry is about are considered a reliable source.

It says under Wikipedia:Biographies_of_living_persons#Privacy_of_personal_information_and_using_primary_sources:

A verified social media account of an article subject saying about themselves something along the lines of "today is my 50th birthday" may fall under self-published sources for purposes of reporting a full date of birth. It may be usable if there is no reason to doubt it.

So it seems to me that in this case there is no reason to doubt these 2 social media accounts. What do you say?

I agree and would say those sources are fine for her birth information. Historyday01 (talk) 12:52, 21 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Just to add that at least the year of birth (1988) can be inferred from this link that's already mentioned:
Speaking by Facebook last week from Geneva, where she was staying at a writers’ retreat, the 28-year-old Montreal resident recalled her hometown and childhood with mixed emotions.
So she was 28 years old (actually, almost 29) in 7 April 2017.
