Cleanup

[edit]

I cleaned this up greatly - I have to say that I removed a lot of sources, some of which were primary and/or didn't back up the claims in specific. Some of them did pertain to the topic, like the claim of the book being on a BBC list, but didn't exactly back up what they were claiming. Using the BBC list as an example, the page had previously claimed that it was on a top ten list when the mention was actually in an article about books for that particular month. It wasn't really a notable list in the way that Wikipedia considers lists to be noteworthy - examples of lists that would be worth listing are things like listings on the New York Times Bestseller lists or on a notable publication's "best of the year" lists. The mention at the BBC article was actually more of a brief review than anything else.

I was mildly tempted to turn this into a book article since the RS are really only about the book itself, however we wouldn't be able to include her other work in a book article so I kept it in this format. Her other works have received no true coverage or recognition in places Wikipedia would consider to be notable. The only somewhat claim to fame is the Moondance International Film Festival award and offhand I'm concerned that they would likely not pass notability guidelines if the article was brought to AfD. When I tried finding sourcing for the film I couldn't find anything in a RS, which doesn't give off the impression that the awards are really noteworthy, since a notable award would get a lot of coverage. I'm mostly saying this to explain why I edited the article to tone down the claims about her non-memoir work, as the article was fairly WP:PUFFY. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 06:14, 23 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
