Sales

[edit]

I think knowing the total sales would be useful, anyone agree? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.29.61.134 (talk) 10:01, 21 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

USB file

[edit]

What is http://rapidshare.com/files/27714150/k790i-USB-Cable.rar ? Does it belong here? I could find no mention of it in the body of the article. Rakerman 17:06, 30 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Stub at the bottom of the page

[edit]

At the bottom of the page there is a category called 'K790/K800' where it actually should be 'K790/K800i'

Everywhere else in wikipedia says K800i and so does the SE website and phone itself tells you its a K800i. There is no K800 though!

Though sony ericsson phones are very good only problem is with its connector, they start malfunctioning every now and then. A usb port in place of sony style connector will be of more use. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 125.21.17.35 (talk) 07:54, 15 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

price

[edit]

give the price of the phone

First off, quite clearly, you have the ability to edit - so do it yourself, secondly, demanding gets you nowhere, finally, sign your comments after you make them. Sacharin (talk) 11:50, 7 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Modification

[edit]

I changed the sentence

The Sony Ericsson K800i, and its variant, the Sony Ericsson K790, are the latest mobile phones of their class from Sony Ericsson

to

The Sony Ericsson K800i, and its variant, the Sony Ericsson K790, are recent mobile phones of their class from Sony Ericsson

As the k810i is avalable, and is a later model than the k800i, therefor the phrase the latest is incorrect. - Steve

Also could we change the phone to a non branded, picture, insted of one with the 3 logo, if anyone has a non branded k800i it is welcome change

no. Sacharin (talk) 12:45, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Blogger

[edit]

I am just wondering if it should be mentioned anywhere in the article that there is a built in feature in the phone which allows you to send photos from the phone to Blogger using their mobile Blogger service. I know all phones can do it by sending the picture to go@blogger.com but the K800i has a built in application which does that automatically at no cost. Ixistant 17:06, 23 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Card or adaptor not included as standart? Someone who knows this please update this information DasReboot 21:27, 16 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

POV? "A heavily revamped version of the K800i, Sony Ericsson K810 is available since Q2 2007."

[edit]

From what I have seen the reviews don't back that statement up, for instance: "Despite minimal tweaking, the K810i remains an excellent phone on the whole, but obviously it won't tempt current K800i owners to upgrade." [1] Mathmo Talk 23:42, 8 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your issue is with the word "heavily"?? I agree. Mark83 (talk) 10:51, 9 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Written like an advert

[edit]

Sorry, I don't feel that this article has an encyclopedic tone. To me, it seems to contain the sort of information that an advert for the phones would have - where's the critical commentary, information about sales success or lack of it, competition with other phones and everything in between?

Thanks all for your work on it! --Drum guy (talk) 14:24, 7 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, and I am moving the template to the article page for other ediotrs to see. I hope to start an overhaul of the entire SE range of articles, possibly starting a wikiproject? Many thanks, δ²(Talk) 09:20, 8 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I think you guys are asking to much - often the phones are still to 'young' so we could come up with that sort of information on every SE article. On the phone pages we get basic information about the phone itself, some useful URLs, eventually some pictures and that's it. While I agree that over time and lots of editing the tone in this article became rather poor, the encyclopedic tone belongs here. The encyclopedic character of this article is based on the following reason: in four or five years from now, it will be hard to find sites with information about these devices. rigelt (talk) 22:18, 12 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image comparison and hidden features

[edit]

Is the image comparison to the N82 really needed?

I also think not - btw, the dpi comparison 72 vs. 300 is complete nonsense (if you write about resolution then in pixels 5MP vs 3,2MP. - i will remove it --84.119.16.12 (talk) 12:55, 19 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Also, the hidden features section is a little useless IMO, since this is available in all SEs 94.68.130.77 (talk) 23:49, 3 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Class, darkness, cult status

[edit]

...and K800i are mobile phones of their class

What does this mean? surely all mobile phones are 'mobile phones of their class'? Is something missing from this sentence?

What is the point of the picture of the phone in darkness?

It's a pity there isn't a sufficiently wikipedic way to point out that this device is something of a cult handset. There are only a few mobile phones that have inspired more than usual loyalty and interest by their owners, above and beyond simple popularity. In the West I would name the K800i, Nokia 6310i, Nokia 8850/80, Motorola StarTac and perhaps the Sidekick. The 6310i article does make a reference to its' enduring status, so I will try to shape a similar phrase for this article. Centrepull (talk) 19:21, 20 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What's the difference between the K800c (for mainland China) and the International K800i?

[edit]

What's the difference between the K800c (for mainland China) and the International K800i? Why is there a different model for mainland China? Not some form of monitoring or censorship mechanism I hope? Beefy_SAFC (talk) 12:00, 21 March 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.241.162.183 (talk) [reply]
