United Breaks Guitars
[edit]I think that the United Airlines incident section should be in a separate article. Any thoughts?--Edge3 (talk) 13:47, 21 July 2009 (UTC)
- I don't agree. Given it's size now I've removed some of the original research and useless trivia, it's fine where it is. If it expands significantly with reliably sourced, relevant information, it can be split off. For the moment, United Breaks Guitars directs here so people will be able to find it. - Funny how the editors at the United Airlines article will not allow any mention of this incident or video. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 199.233.178.254 (talk) 14:56, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
- Not true. This issue was discussed in UAL Talk at great length in June and July with the result that it has been included in the "recent news" section of the United Airlines article for many weeks. Centpacrr (talk) 16:10, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

Solo Albums
[edit]As there are no WP entries for Don and Dave separately, I think that their solo albums should be listed here, too. 125.162.47.86 (talk) 15:45, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
I agree. It looks like Dave Carroll used to have a separate Wikipedia entry that has been merged with this one, and some info was lost in the process. Minaker (talk) 04:18, 26 May 2010 (UTC)
- How so? the first and only edit was to make the namespace a redirect. Ohconfucius ¡digame! 18:37, 27 May 2010 (UTC)
You're right, I stand corrected. Still, the redirect is inappropriate unless this article is to contain enough information about Carroll's solo career that a separate page is deemed unnecessary. Minaker (talk) 01:37, 28 May 2010 (UTC)
- It's not inappropriate, but in fact preferable to having three stub articles. Anyhoo, the band is only marginally notable – most of the press mentions are trivial – and has ridden on the coat-tails of United Breaks Guitars. I don't see any evidence that Don Carroll fulfilled the notability criteria. Ohconfucius ¡digame! 03:00, 28 May 2010 (UTC)
All I'm saying is that a search for "Dave Carroll" should reveal information about Dave Carroll. I think you have an uphill battle if you want to argue that point. This article is about Carroll's band, not about the individual, at the expense of information about Carroll's solo career. And Dave Carroll -- you're the one changing the subject to Don for some reason -- does indeed meet the notability criteria that you yourself are so quick to point out: a person "is presumed to be notable if he or she has been the subject of published secondary source material which is reliable, intellectually independent, and independent of the subject." Your argument that Carroll is merely a one-hit wonder does nothing to change that. Minaker (talk) 03:29, 29 May 2010 (UTC)
