Basic details
[edit]@Wgolf: From my limited research I couldn't find out what Songsoptok meant because I didn't have a Bangla dictionary on hand. But I believe there are atleast three famous things named Songsoptok:
- Songsoptok, the novel by Shahidullah Kaiser. (bn:সংশপ্তক_(উপন্যাস), also mentions this drama but with deadlinks.)
- Songsoptok, this drama.
- Songsoptok, a bronze statue as a tribute to freedom fighters in the liberation war. (bn:সংশপ্তক (ভাস্কর্য))
I think the drama has a limited presence in the internet since it was filmed so long ago, but it was also aired atleast in 2000 on BTV according to one source offline so it still has some presence which explains why the article was created back in 2006. The recent death of the actor Humayun Faridi spurred some news articles on his role on the drama so it's notable. It looks like old newspapers will be the key to finding the references for more information here as well as making a summary. The first reference from Bangladesh Pratidin that I've added has a short summary on the show's story although the novel's summaries should be sufficient except for any deviations. I'm not sure of the role of Faridi in the show but I have assumed that he starred in the show. Thank you for bringing this into my attention. – Nahiyan8 (talk | contribs) 21:09, 8 April 2015 (UTC)
