Fair use rationale for Image:SomeoneToWatchOverMeFrasier.jpg

[edit]

Image:SomeoneToWatchOverMeFrasier.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Requested move

The result of the proposal was no move. JPG-GR (talk) 02:22, 5 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I am requesting that this page be moved back to the original title, "Someone to Watch Over Me (Frasier)". All sources state the episode name as "Someone to Watch Over Me", such as the Frasier Season 2 DVD release and the episode listing on IMDB, so the article should be moved to "Someone to Watch Over Me (Frasier)". It should have never been moved to "Someone to Watch over Me (Frasier)".

  • Oppose, quoting WP:CAPS: "In general, each word in titles of books, films, and other works takes an initial capital, except for articles ("a", "an", "the"), the word "to" as part of an infinitive, prepositions and coordinating conjunctions shorter than five letters (e.g., "on", "from", "and", "with"), unless they begin or end a title or subtitle." – Cyrus XIII (talk) 18:03, 30 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Counter: This is actually the problem with Wikipedia's naming conventions. Many books, films, and other works deviate from this convention, and so the original titles should be respected and not modified to fit Wikipedia's standards. It should also be noted that the text says "In general..." – Nitroblu (talk) 01:55, 1 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    • You should take such fundamental concerns to the talk pages of our Manual of Style, an article about a Frasier episode is hardly the place to have that kind of discussion. The only thing we could comprehensively address here would be whether or not there is a compelling argument for making an exception for this particular article. Given our overall standards of neutrality and consistency though, this would have to be one heck of a rationale. – Cyrus XIII (talk) 07:34, 1 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose How the episode is capitalized in the episode guide or how a book is capitalized on its cover or title page does not control capitalization elsewhere. The title of a given work might be capitalized differently in different printings of it. What matters is the style guide relevant to the work the title is used in. In this case, it means Wikipedia's Manual of Style is more important than the DVD release materials. Were MoS not to have a relevant rule, I would still be opposed because when the question is merely of style and not addressed by MoS, all instances should conform with the earliest use. Either style ("over" or "Over) are, proper, so it is a mere question of style. Obviously, the title of the article is the earliest use of the title of the episode, so the lowercase version should prevail. -Rrius (talk) 20:27, 2 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Moved

[edit]

Please realized that "over" in this case is not a preposition but part of the two-word phrasal verb "watch over". Phrasal verbs are typically capitalized and this is discussed in the WP:music project for album and song titles in WP:MUSTARD. I know this isn't a music article but the same principal applies. --Wolfer68 (talk) 02:34, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
