creating the Somalia national under-20 football team page

[edit]

I concluded that this page is ready to be recreated, but there is an AfD on it, so I would like opinions if I should recreate it. Mo Amine M (talk) 15:55, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Can you share the sources you propose to use so we can see if there is WP:SIGCOV in independent, secondary, reliable sources? Thanks for bringing this to the talk page. Dclemens1971 (talk) 15:56, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

None of those are secondary sources. They're all affiliated with the Somali soccer federation or the regional soccer federation. Dclemens1971 (talk) 17:24, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
i also added a source from the rsssf wich is an international independent organisation Mo Amine M (talk) 17:37, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Match results are a primary source though, not secondary. Dclemens1971 (talk) 18:06, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
but if this is necessary to create a page why the 206 other pages of the teams that compete in the FIFA U-20 World Cup tournament has no sources every page has sources only from their national football federation. Mo Amine M (talk) 18:10, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know; WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS. I know there is an AfD discussion saying this page should be a redirect that reflected a community consensus last year. If you want, you could bring it to WP:DRV. I think the editors there might be willing to allow recreation since the AfD was lightly attended. Dclemens1971 (talk) 18:44, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
alright here are secondary sources that are reliable:

An article that includes those sources is probably one that can survive AfD. I won't have any objection if you recreate the article with those sources and I won't revert to the redirect. Can't say that someone else won't, but I would argue against deletion if someone else were to bring another AfD. I'd recommend waiting until tomorrow to do so to avoid triggering 3RR though. Thanks for being willing to discuss here first. Dclemens1971 (talk) 19:00, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
no problem thanks for keeping up with the discussion. Mo Amine M (talk) 19:21, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
