Supergroup

[edit]

I cannot decide whether this is a good term to apply to the band. Does anyone else like me consider this slightly not right? I mean, sure all the artists have come from other bands, but that is often the case with ANY band these days. Exactly HOW notable should each of the artists be to claim super-group status? Jwoodger (talk) 04:52, 18 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I changed it to "band". If there is a reliable source that characterizes them as a "super group" it can be changed back. decltype (talk) 06:03, 18 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Actually I just noticed that they are referred to as a supergroup by Blabbermouth which was cited in this article, though the text appears as "supergroup" I think meaning to indicate it wasn't a serious assesment. Personally I don't think it should be a supergroup, but I guess now it could be valid? Though then we might have to apply Supergroup status to all of Christian and Jani's other bands (eg Miseration)! Jwoodger (talk) 13:56, 20 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The article also seems to imply that Christian was one of the founders of the band, but the interview at http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/BlabberMouth.Net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=111526 states that he was among the last members to join the already existing band (with already existing songs also)... Can anyone think of a way to include this (and if we should bother noting it at all)? Jwoodger (talk) 06:12, 18 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Since the claim that Älvestam co-founded the band is not backed up by a reliable source, you can rewrite the article to reflect what the interview says, if you want. decltype (talk) 06:18, 18 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Status

[edit]

Done some work on this one, Does anyone think this possibly qualifies for upgrading from "Stub" to "Start" class yet? Jwoodger (talk) 13:50, 20 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Association to Scar Symmetry

[edit]

I notice that the Associated Acts section of the infobox keeps getting Scar Symmetry added to the list. This is entirely understandable, but using Template:Infobox_musical_artist#Associated_acts as guideline I don't think we should be adding them - the only thing in common is Christian Alvestam, and he was never in both bands at the same time. Solution .45 themselves appear to want to place some distance between the association (as per Jani's statements). What do others think? Jwoodger (talk) 00:04, 30 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I see a large slab of other bands have been added as associated acts - are they all actually relevant (as opposed to just sharing a single member)? Jwoodger (talk) 10:43, 17 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I have posted the relevant information below, to make discussion easier. I have bolded the relevant pros and the con:

"This field can include, for example, any of the following:

  • For individuals: groups of which he or she has been a member
  • [For Mikael Stanne]: Other acts with which this act has collaborated on multiple occasions, or on an album, or toured with as a single collaboration act playing together
  • Groups which have spun off from this group
  • A group from which this group has spun off

Separate multiple entries with commas.

The following uses of this field should be avoided:

  • Association of groups with members' solo careers
  • Groups with only one member in common
  • Association of producers, managers, etc. (who are themselves acts) with other acts (unless the act essentially belongs to the producer, as in the case of a studio orchestra formed by and working exclusively with a producer)
  • One-time collaboration for a single, or on a single song
  • Groups that are merely similar"

All of the groups I added have members in common, and I admit that I was probably over-zealous with my inclusion of some. However, many of these share more than just one member, and therefore should be included. Also, though Christian is the only member from Scar Symmetry, he was involved with both Scar Symmetry and this band simultaneously, and almost every single reference I find for Solution .45 pounds to death the fact that he was in Scar Symmetry. Basically, in this particular instance Scar Symmetry is a group that this band spun off of. Considering that this is a supergroup, I would say that any band of a Solution .45 member that is mentioned in a source, I think should be included, even if it is just one member in common. I'll take the liberty of removing any band that isn't mentioned.--3family6 (talk) 12:13, 17 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

TBA

[edit]

I guess the album for 2013 needs the citation. It was written as TBA. Probably meaning as there is no name for it so it is to be announced.213.74.30.79 (talk) 11:25, 2 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
