There is also a brand of bicycles called Softails, mostly famous for their triathlon bikes. Mathmo Talk 03:13, 20 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

'usually hidden' rear suspension?

[edit]

The article acts as if its possible to be a 'Softail' without hidden rear suspension. This is not the case. A Softail is defined as a motorcycle with hidden rear suspension and a swingarm designed to appear as part of the frame, providing the visual illusion that it is a hardtail (a motorcycle without rear suspension) while still retaining a rear suspension. It is a 'soft' 'hardtail' i.e. a 'Softail'. Get it? --Thomas Shirk (still at work, no IP.)

Since this isn't receiving any attention I'll go ahead and make the edit and see how it sticks... --72.23.28.29 17:37, 20 June 2007 (UTC)Thomas Shirk[reply]
