Vodafone
The Vodafone section is confusing: it goes on for a few paragraphs without any clear connection to SoftBank and then closes with a 2006 hypothesis of a deal with SoftBank. Removing the section entirely would not be bad. Nemo 13:58, 16 February 2017 (UTC)
Article Lacks Coherence
This article seems somewhat incoherent and doesn't make sense in some places.
After the intro, the first section heading is History/Founding and early years - yet the section says nothing about the founding of Softbank and starts in the year 1995. But Softbank was founded in 1981! What happened in the intervening years? Yahoo! Japan was cop-founded by Softbank in 1996, and was one of Softbank's most successful investments, yet it is not mentioned in the article. Why not? [[1]]
Just below that, it states "On January 28, 2008, it was announced that SoftBank and Tiffany & Co. collaborated in making a limited 10 model-only cellphone. This cellphone contains more than 400 platinum diamond" - what does 10-model only, mean? A limited edition of 10 phones, rather than 10 models? I don't know. What is "platinum diamond"? And is this really important enough to put in here?
Then there's Alibaba, which was possibly Softbank's best ever investment. What does the article have to say about this? Nothing, apart from selling the stake. So how was it acquired, for how much and what profit was made? https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-06-02/softbank-s-proceeds-from-alibaba-stake-to-reach-8-9-billion
In short, the history section needs to weed out minor stuff, put in major stuff which is almost 100% missing, and flesh out the period between 1981 and 1995.
There was a good article in The Economist about Softbank not long ago - maybe that could be mined for some useful facts?

No mention of AT&T wireless CDMA filibuster
The US Congress passed a law to stop Japanese telecom from rolling out CDMA on continental USA. TuKa should have some info on that. They SWITCHED so fast, more difficult for surveillance without a warrant. The Softbank IsP experiences similar filibustering. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 126.209.0.225 (talk) 09:49, 18 October 2017 (UTC)
Proposed merge with SoftBank Capital
merge to parent firm DGG ( talk ) 13:48, 4 November 2016 (UTC)
- Would agree with a merge with the former state of the VC fund, but have found enough material for it to be independently notable. Looks much better now. Benji the Pen (talk) 13:27, 29 December 2017 (UTC)
