Fascism?

[edit]

i would not classify SP as a nazi or fascist party, but say that it in the end of its existance developed a pro-nazi stance. there is a distinction to be made. It was never a fullfledged nazi party. --Soman 07:42, 8 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

  • I agree! Only in the very end, before the party was dissolved, did the party start getting a pro-german (pro-german rather than pro-nazi) view. Also, by then, most of the party's original members had left or been expelled.

Fair use rationale for Image:Spfolketlandetposter.PNG

[edit]

Image:Spfolketlandetposter.PNG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Split

[edit]

I think the party split in 1937 and Kilbohm was expelled – he didn't leave on his own. The reasons are hard to understand in the main source over this Swedish Socialist Party issue: "Gåtan Nils Flyg och nazismen", see References. Said: Rursus 07:28, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Flag

[edit]

I've been scavenging around on the internet trying to find some pictures from 1928-1948 of the Socialist Party's flag. I can't seem to find any. At least not any with this specific design. If we compare it with the flag of Svenska Nationalsocialistiska Partiet and look online we can see pictures of it being used, at conventions or at marches/protests, even in black and white we can see that there are three different colours and a swastika inside a circle. So for that case w can say that it's the party's flag, or at least close enough. However, I haven't been able to find any relic of the Socialist Party's flag being used anywhere, not at conventions or protests. And looking at the flag's history on Wikipedia, it has gone through several changes, not only in colour but the shape of the hammer. I've been able to find a couple of pictures of lapel pin that have the same design, of a hammer (in this shape) and some kind of red flag in the background. But no picture of a flag like this used. Is there more information about this flag? or is it just something that somebody came up with on Wikipedia in order to make the page less boring?--Der under Smurf (talk) 12:21, 21 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Many thanks for flagging (no pun intended) the issue. First of all, based on the warrelics link you post, I think we can safetly say that [1]/[2] constituted the logo of the party, so ideally we should get a .png file based on it. In terms of colours, I perceive that it would be a white hammer on a folded red flag, but I'm wary that it might be yellow colour in the pins etc that have faded? I'll try to re-research a bit and see if something comes up. --Soman (talk) 15:10, 21 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Here the symbol seems to be yellow/gold on red rather than white: https://docplayer.se/61503494-Vansterpartiernas-historia-sedd-genom-marken.html , also having a variant of the logo with the letters "SP" -Soman (talk) 15:17, 21 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

From the pictures that I've tried to find, a lot of the images have the variant of this flag in them. It might be so that the party didn't have a party flag. Because it seems strange to me there's been more than one version of this flag. So this version of the flag might have been invented. The hammer in the top left corner seems to be the correct shape. I can't find any pictures of protests or conventions by SP on the internet, they might be on some website or book, but I can't seem to find anything. As to if there's a party logo, I'm not really sure if that might have been a logo or just the design they used for the pin.--Der under Smurf (talk) 20:15, 21 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Position of this party

[edit]

@User:Rahammz the position of this party should be
From 1940:
Right-wing
Until 1940:
Left-wing
Because Nazism according to almost all political scientists and historians (from the appropriate time period) is considered a subset of extreme right-wing agenda. The name of this party confuses many editors
You yourself said that the remaining figures eventually adopted Nazism
Pomchi-Inu87 (talk) 10:27, 30 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

No one is denying Nazism is right wing. The Socialist Party of Sweden which started as as an anti Stalinist communist party (created by opposition members of the Swedish communist party) did not ever officially adopt the Nazi ideology but had a pro Nazi foreign policy while still claiming to be a left-wing Socialist Party. It was the successor of this party, the Swedish Socialist Party (founded in 1943) that adopted Nazism as its ideology. So this party remained left-wing until its dissolution Rahammz (talk) 17:26, 30 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The description Pro-Germany or Pro-collaboration is way better than Pro-Nazi because the sources says that this socialist party (1929 incarnation) did not ever officially adopt the Nazi ideology but a pro-(Nazi) Germany foreign policy. The ideology tag Pro-Nazi also may cause people to think that they figures of socialist party (1929 incarnation) showed likeness the Nazi ideology
