There is no common metric for how large an archipelago is (area, number of islands, land mass, lenght along the coast?), but both Stockholm and West Coast archipelagoes are larger than Smålands. Given that there are at least three larger ones nearby (I'm counting Åland) I'm skeptical of the claim that it's one of the largest in the world. Sjö (talk) 11:59, 12 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You're right there is no standardized definition of an archipelago. However, Sweden does appear to have a very large amount of islands and archipelagoes, much greater than most nations, at least according to this page: List of archipelagos by number of islands. I'll remove the statement about Smaland being the second largest in Sweden, because as this statement can, as you said, easily be disputed. Ace45954 (talk) 22:39, 19 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
