Ethnicity
[edit]Is it really unrecognized to say that Slug identifies himself as a black, or is it more accurate to say he identifies with African-American culture? While he is 1/4 black, I think he is intelligent and self-aware enough to not consider himself an African-American, what with him being pretty white looking. If there is a quote that could prove me wrong, I will humbly back down, but I think that the wording of this kind of makes him look like a jerk, especially considering the sentence about other black MCs ripping him for that. Also, I doubt that Slug would ever pigeonhole himself like that. It just sounds like a fan maybe twisted his words or created his own. Flannel 23:38, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
Slug has thought of himself as black since he was a kid. Read this article: "http://www.citypages.com/databank/21/1022/article8787.asp" It is basicly a huge bio of slug. puppetrevolt 23:43, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
thanks to whoever started this article again, i don't know what happened to the old one. slug definitely does identify as black. as for the rhymesayers thing, the way i understand it, the record label was born out of a loose "crew", or collective of slug, spawn and stress. i may be wrong though Febodyed 16:08, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
He isn't 1/4th Black, you can tell right off. If there is EVEN a Black Grandfather in the family, he WILL look nearly full blood.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.173.110.100 (talk • contribs)
- From what I understand the shade of partial blacks varies greatly from one person to the other. ReverendG 03:47, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
Is it safe to assume the current "Ethnicity" section has been vandalised?
Direct quote from Slug: I mean I’m mixed, you know. It’s kind of like, especially in America if you’ve got a little bit of black in you, when the revolution comes, you’re probably gonna get killed just like the rest of the blacks. So, under that guise group…My mother’s white and my father is black/native American. So, it makes me really light skinned. Most people think that I’m Italian or a very tall Spanish kid. Just by looking at me, you can’t really tell by my skin or my hair. But, girls always say that my features look like I’m not white. I don’t know, you know what, lets not talk about that kind of stuff. Interview: http://mvremix.com/urban_blogs/2008/03/30/slug-atmosphere-interview/ - Antonio013 (talk) 18:13, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
Slug is definitely mixed. Hence the song "YGM" where the final lyric is indeed, "I'm young, gifted and MIXED". http://www.sweetslyrics.com/564982.Atmosphere%20-%20YGM.html —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.249.243.188 (talk) 02:20, 17 August 2010 (UTC)
I may be showing even more of my ignorance here, but is there an actual crew called the Rhymesayers? I know that members of Rhymesayers often collaborate, but I've never heard of a set group called the Rhymesayers. Flannel 23:43, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
Rhymesayers Entertainment is a record label, not an actual group. ReverendG 23:28, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
Rewrite
[edit]I tried to rewrite the article so that it made more sense, hope no one minds Febodyed 00:22, 18 August 2006 (UTC)
Sean Likes Ugly Girls
[edit]I don't remember this ever being used in any of his lyrics, so I changed what was written. If anyone knows what song(s) it's used in, feel free to change it back.
Section
[edit]I think this section is entirely original research and should be kept out. Interesting Comments
Sean Daley might have been born on September 7, 1972 (a guess based off of the song Sep Seven Game Show Theme and his tattoo/nickname of Se7en; and 1972 coming from the quote, "...since 1972!" in the song History of Seven's Travels).
Nothing But Sunshine off of Lucy Ford: The Atmosphere EPs is a made-up life story having no truth to Sean.
If Lucy isn't really a person, then who is the mother of his child?
Slug seems to be considered black by whites because they may not be used to rap music, but considered white by blacks because he's not their style of rap.

His girl
[edit]Her name is rita. Also the mother of his child. Sean is 35. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.56.128.172 (talk) 06:59, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
Rita is not his son's mother. If you can prove me wrong then do it. But you wont, i promise. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.73.73.189 (talk) 06:16, 29 November 2010 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:CantImagine1005.jpg
[edit]Image:CantImagine1005.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
