Adding Pictures

[edit]

It would be helpful to have a picture of the ventral midline of a CNS near the intro to help readers better understand what that means.

The structure section would also be much enhanced with a picture or two of the structures. Also, maybe elaborate on why those structural features are important to the function discussed later?

I agree, adding pictures would definitely help to clarify structural features of the gene, especially when discussing the LRR domains.--Sabelson (talk) 02:00, 30 April 2012 (UTC)Sari Abelson[reply]

Overall, the layout is clear and organized, the point of view seems neutral, and it explores the gene at a good depth. The biggest thing I would change is adding pictures and links. Because it goes into great detail, not all the readers will be able to understand everything referenced. Once those things are added, it will be a well-rounded article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Scharenb793 (talkcontribs) 21:00, 29 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

In the Discovery section, I would explain what you mean by "repulsive signaling" and maybe flesh this section out a bit more. Some of the information you present is a little bit unclear for someone who has no knowledge of the topic. What is the significance of the discovery? --Sabelson (talk) 02:09, 30 April 2012 (UTC)Sari Abelson[reply]

The Cleavage section seems a bit random and perhaps misplaced in the article. Perhaps talk about the significance of cleavage --Sabelson (talk) 02:11, 30 April 2012 (UTC)Sari Abelson[reply]

Very thorough content, a nice breadth of information. You did a nice job providing an extensive overview of the different functions of Slit--Sabelson (talk) 02:18, 30 April 2012 (UTC)Sari Abelson[reply]

Also, great job discussing the implications and significance of the different functions--Sabelson (talk) 02:18, 30 April 2012 (UTC)Sari Abelson[reply]

Discuss further how Slit-Robo transduction mechanisms could be therapeutic. How would that be implemented? Have there been any trials? --Sabelson (talk) 02:27, 30 April 2012 (UTC)Sari Abelson[reply]

Perhaps the Cancer section should be placed under Clinical Signifiance--Sabelson (talk) 02:18, 30 April 2012 (UTC)Sari Abelson[reply]
