Fair use rationale for Image:SlimWhitman.jpg
Image:SlimWhitman.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:42, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
Beatles reunion?
I checked the footnote to the claim of Slim being considered as John Lennon's posthumous replacement, and found no evidence pointing to this. This section should be removed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.80.45.13 (talk) 14:04, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
Agreed, unless an independent source can be found, this reference should be immediately removed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.206.242.200 (talk) 20:32, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
Years active
Why does this article terminate Slim's "years active" at 1974? He continued recording and performing for many years afterward. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Stuthehistoryguy (talk • contribs) 20:18, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
DoB
DoB is 1923 in lede, 1924 in infobox. Which is correct? Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 16:00, 19 June 2013 (UTC)
- That's not quite correct - currently both years are given in the text, with a footnote. Did you read the thread two up from this? In the past, most usually reliable sources have said 1924, but there now seems to be a consensus that it was 1923. There's been some uncertainty today, but if there's a consensus for 1923 we should make it consistent. Ghmyrtle (talk) 16:18, 19 June 2013 (UTC)
- PS: Just to avoid any further confusion - US public records show that Ottis Dewey Whitman Jr. was born on January 20, 1923, which made him 90 at the time of his death. Sources stating that he was 89 are wrong - based on much-repeated but nevertheless incorrect information - and sources stating that he was 90 are correct. Ghmyrtle (talk) 13:31, 21 June 2013 (UTC)
Epic Records/ Suffolk label?
These two labels are included in the info box, but without any trace in the article text. In fact what, is Suffolk Records? Martinevans123 (talk) 21:38, 21 June 2013 (UTC)
