I decided to put this article on hold. Overall, it is an excellent article. However, the lack of references prevents this article from achiving GA status. I would suggest looking on the Internet for more sources and reference this article. Some places that especially need a reference are direct quotes. See WP:REF
Also, I do not think the last paragraph in Emancipation should be that long. I would suggest shortening it and providing links for other articles in WP that tell about the economic collapse. If you want to talk about the economic situation after the slaves were freed, then focus on how freeing the slaves affected the economy.
