Proposed changes

[edit]

One aspect of the article that could be improved would be adding a section about the origins of the name "Slave Lake" in the history section. Further, as its location is described in relation to Edmonton and Fort McMurray, it could be beneficial to specify that the distances are "as the crow flies" rather than travel distances - a car trip to Fort McMurray from Slave Lake is closer to 400km. A citation is also required for the climate section. It could be beneficial to add hyperlinks to websites for the media outlets listed. It would be worth examining whether the sports section can be updated. Jlmdouce (talk) 20:19, 22 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Two deaths?

[edit]

Two deaths? This hasn't been reported anywhere and the references don't support it. Should be removed immediately. 69.168.144.143 (talk) 05:26, 17 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Nothing being broadcast about any deaths on CFRN-TV right now as I type. Hwy43 (talk) 05:36, 17 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Main Picture for Article

[edit]

The picture that is currently displayed is somewhat outdated, would anyone be opposed if a new one, better capturing the town's current atmosphere, is put in in the future? Slaveair2 (talk) 17:52, 5 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

2006 isn't that old considering many communities don't have images at all. 117Avenue (talk) 05:36, 6 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
