Whats abot snowbiking and snow scooting? --Llorenzi (talk) 13:51, 10 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! This is a note to let the editors of this article know that File:2018 STM Austria Skibob Hochficht GRUBER Sarah-2779.jpg will be appearing as picture of the day on December 23, 2019. You can view and edit the POTD blurb at Template:POTD/2019-12-23. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page so Wikipedia doesn't look bad. :) Thanks! Skibobbing
Skibobbing is a winter sport involving a bicycle-type frame attached to skis. Although originally a form of transportation in the Alps, skibobbing is now a competitive sport, with contestants often achieving speeds of over 100 mph (160 km/h).

Ski biking needs an update

[edit]

With the expanded roll of the ASA (american skibike association) in the ski community, and better organization of the 3 ski bike/trike types now accepted at most ski areas it seems this old reference of ski bobbing needs to be updated. Ski bobbing is with 'foot ski's only' and considered a Type-1 bike. Once referred to as peggers, these bikes are called Type-2 where the riders stand on pedals. There are 3 ski versions, or Type-3 trikes such as SnoGo that are also making their impact into the sport. Brenter and Stalmach are the leaders in Type-1, Skibyk and Lenz are the leaders in Type-2 and SnoGo is a popular Type-3 in the USA. I will update when I figure out what direction to go because everything at this point is lumped into skibobbing. Mrhyak (talk) 21:21, 9 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
