Fun Facts

[edit]
  • Ski is the official soft drink of the Leland Palace.
  • Ski was also mentioned in the Grammy Award-winning Kentucky Headhunters album Pickin' on Nashville, in the song "Dumas Walker". [1] (We'll get a slawburger, fries and a bottle of Ski / Bring it out to my baby and me)
  • Ski is also believed to contain a small amount of alcohol in it's concentrated form. [citation needed]
  • Ski is the official drink of Camp Joy, a Boy Scout camp in Carlyle, Illinois. This is due in part to the proximity of the camp to the Breese bottling camp and the staff's loyalty to the brand.
    • The staff alone go through over 150 bottles a week during the five week summer camp season. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ruarkr.2008 (talkcontribs)
      • Some smart Boy Scouts buy ski at the Breese bottling company and sell it to fellow scouts for a profit of about $6.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.171.72.245 (talkcontribs) 16:55, 9 January 2009
  • Ski is also the official drink of Chief Logan Reservation, Ray, Ohio. This is due to the fact that there is a bottling plant in Welston, OH. It is the only scout camp out of five summer camps in Simon Kenton Council to serve Ski. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 199.159.186.44 (talkcontribs) 17:03, 6 May 2008
  • Bubba Mays (professional gamer) of Aviston, IL is reported to have consumed one can of SKI soda every day for the past 15 years. Aviston Times, June 3, 2008 p3. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 199.159.186.66 (talk) 20:39, 19 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Camp Joy

[edit]

Due to the exclusive canned beverage contract that the camp holds with excel bottling, Ski is the official drink of Camp Joy, a Boy Scout facility in Carlyle Illinois. This is due in part to the proximity of the camp to the Breese bottling plant and the staff's loyalty to the brand. At one point, the staff alone go through over 150 bottles a week during the five week summer camp season. In 2008 the camp started the season with a 3,000 can order that was not finished off until midway into 2009.24.178.236.24 (talk) 03:04, 22 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move 26 January 2019

[edit]
The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: there is support for moving 'Ski', 'Patio', and 'Victoria', all of which were unopposed requested moves. However, for 'Drank', the concerns brought up by Dekimasu were unaddressed. Given that the policy-based arguments brought up for the other three moves aren't as persuasive when applied to 'Drank', there is no consensus for 'Drank' to be moved. – Although there are many redirects, these are the only four articles that use "(soda)" as a disambiguator (search for "(soda)" in title). In line with WP:NCDAB, we should follow the "commonly used" name for these (search for "drink)" in title). 94.21.204.175 (talk) 10:38, 26 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Although "(soft drink)" is possible, the tendency seems to be to move from "(soft drink)" to "(drink)", e.g. Vault (drink) was moved from Vault (soft drink) (whereas Vault (soda) was only ever a redirect). This is in line with WP:NCDAB "choose whichever is simpler". 94.21.204.175 (talk) 11:01, 26 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Strong Support. "Soda" is not a term used in all of the English speaking world to describe carbonated drinks - Soft drink#Terminology states that the term is generally not used outside of the United States. Per my point in the RM at Talk:Sprite (soft drink), (drink) suffices per WP:CONCISE. Lazz_R 22:28, 26 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Soda (drink) and Soda drink were speedily redirected to the disambiguation page Soda#Food and drink yesterday. 94.21.204.175 (talk) 10:04, 27 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I hope that you're not going to stop the production of the soda ski. I mean there is a big call for it where I live. Please with all due respect, think before you act. It doesn't make sense to me. I have drinker this product for years. Thank you 73.88.148.26 (talk) 20:34, 5 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
