Good Article candidate

[edit]

I think this is a perfect example of a "Good Article" so I'll add it to the list. It's an interesting read, and the music and notation samples add a lot. Good use of wikilinks. My comments for improvement include:

  • I don't think the abbreviations (ff) and English definitions of dynamic markings are necessary. Link some of them instead.
  • In general it is better to work text like "(see Foo)" into the article somehow.
  • It reads very well, but there are areas for improvement in the writing. A copyedit would reduce instances of "approximately" and exchange "massive" and "hugely" for something a bit more professional-sounding. I was not sure if "quasi-miliary" had a "t" missing or not.
  • Anything on the critical reception of the work as a whole would be a bonus.

I hope you continue improving composition articles to this extent! –Outriggr  02:06, 29 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your review and conclusion. I will take your points into consideration as I continue editing. ALTON .ıl 05:10, 29 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Should the last sentence of the lead be deleted?

[edit]

I personally think that the last sentence of the lead does not fit with the rest of the article. I'll delete it right now and if anyone thinks that it shouldn't be deleted, they can restore it. For reference, here's the sentence:

In six musical moments, Rachmaninoff illustrates completely, "that which is in my heart."
