[edit]The article states that he "gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1843, and was promoted to Vice Admiral of the Red on 2 September 1850." and implies that he was a captain in 1807.
Something is wrong with the "Lieutenant in 1843" date. I strongly doubt he was promoted from lieutenant to vice admiral in seven years, or that he became a lieutenant 36 years after being a captain. Anklefear 23:48, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
It does seem rather a large gap, so I have removed reference to lieutenant altogether till such time as I or someone else can find the correct date. Brograve 03:33, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
