Maybe Merge with Strategic Voting

[edit]

Hi,

@Closed Limelike Curves@Jasavina should this article maybe just be merged into strategic voting as a special type of strategy. If I had to be honest, I currently do not see the merit of leaving it as a standalone article. Jannikp97 (talk) 07:38, 6 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I think it makes sense to have a separate article because of how common this kind of strategy is, and how important it is in the popular consciousness. Turkey-raising and burial strategies aren't very well-known, but everyone has heard or complained about having to vote for the lesser of two evils. –Maximum Limelihood Estimator 18:01, 6 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

That pop culture section does need to be reworked to be more explicitly relevant to the sincere favorite criterion.
The article as a whole is filling a gap, where many voting system articles have lists of criteria with links to more detailed articles on each. This criterion has been included, but previous attempts to link it sent the reader to a redirect that ended up on a single line of a very large article. It wasn't even clear which line you were supposed to read when you arrived.
Anyway, I'll let that popular culture section bounce around in my brain and mull over how to rework it. Jasavina (talk) 15:23, 9 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yep—I took it from Lesser of two evils, but I don't particularly like it as it stands.
Yiy could maybe pull some more from Strategic voting, which is getting too long. –Sincerely, A Lime 16:32, 9 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
