Specifications
I added the rotor disc area by simply calculating πr² from the rotor diameter given. If this is incorrect for helicopters for some reason, please change it. Zephyrus67 16:11, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
USMC use of "Get me a HUS"

- Thanks for finding a source for that. I have entered your ref here on the article page as a footnote. You may want to read Wikipedia:Citing sources to see how to do that for yourself in the future! - Ahunt (talk) 14:40, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

Use in Laos
The H34 was the workhorse helicopter of the Air America fleet in Laos. AA had an extensive inventory of H34s--sufficient for battalion-size maneuvers.

- Reference? - Ahunt (talk) 15:35, 31 January 2017 (UTC)
H34 was absolutely used in Vietnam.
H34 was used in Vietnam at least in the early 60’s. The article contradicts itself by saying it wasn’t used in Vietnam then later giving examples of its use in Vietnam.
I don’t have a source yet but I know this because my uncle flew in H34’s for a year in Vietnam and was the sole survivor of the crash of an H-34 in enemy territory during the war.
I didn’t want to edit the article because I don’t yet have a source to reference and someone has spent a lot of quality time writing this article. Fat Irish Guy (talk) 23:54, 23 April 2022 (UTC)
- @Fat Irish Guy: The article states the US Army didn't use them in Vietnam, but the USMC did. Did you miss that distinction, or are you claiming the Army did operate them in Vietnam? BilCat (talk) 00:45, 24 April 2022 (UTC)
I missed that distinction. I’m saying the Army did use them in 1961-1962. They were in direct support of ARVN. Fat Irish Guy (talk) 03:44, 25 April 2022 (UTC)
- Then we need to cite a reliable source to that effect. BilCat (talk) 03:48, 25 April 2022 (UTC)
- I already said that. Fat Irish Guy (talk) 04:54, 29 May 2022 (UTC)
VH-34D on display
There’s a Choctaw on display at Camp Mabry, Austin, Texas. It’s missing the rotors, but I have a photo of it. 47.220.71.232 (talk) 16:49, 9 July 2022 (UTC)
- To add it as a listing we would need a ref we can cite. It is listed anywhere? - Ahunt (talk) 17:06, 9 July 2022 (UTC)
