- ... that for a promotional tour of Matt & Kim's third album Sidewalks, it was only played on the public speaker system of the venue before each show began, as none of its tracks were on the setlist? Source: Link to indicate how the album was presented, Link indicating the tour was for the album

Overall: "Sidewalks holds an aggregate score of 62/100 on Metacritic based on 19 reviews, indicating a mixed critical reception." >59 means mixed. In Metacritic, 62 means "Generally favorable reviews". For some reason, the Billboard chart links lead to a 404, "Sorry, the page you were looking for cannot be found" page. Besides that, the article was formerly a stub article with little substance. The hook is interesting. Everything is attributed to a source. QPQ is unrequired as this is your fourth nomination. Earwig's marks a "Violation Unlikely 17.4%", but it's just the quotes. If the issues mentioned are resolved, then it can be approved. (CC) Tbhotch™ 22:25, 2 May 2022 (UTC)

Infobox
[edit]- Needs alt
- The release date should be stated in the body of the article with a source or in a section called released history if it was released on more than one date
- It is. It's called "Release and promotion"
- The label as the same issue as previously mentioned
- Read "Release and promotion" again
- August 30, 2010 → shouldn't the release date as a single be August 31, 2010?
Done
Lead
[edit]- It follows 2009's Grand → was this a studio album, live one?
- of being tracked → of being recorded
- who previously worked with the likes of Gnarls Barkley and Animal Collective. → remove, it's too detailed info for the lead and doesn't add much relevant info
- a mixed critical reception → you have a criticism, no you need something positive so it shows the mixed reception.
- It reached the top 40 of the Billboard 200 → It peaked at number 30 on the Billboard 200
- and the top ten → and entered the top ten
- Um, that would be more fluff. The sentence already starts with "the album reached" 👨x🐱 (Nina CortexxCoco Bandicoot) 14:20, 9 June 2022 (UTC)
- You could add who directed the music videos.
Done
Background and composition
[edit]- Split this section into "Background" and another one called "Composition"
- Not done, because this is impossible. There's too much overlap between these two topics to do that. Reviews constantly discussed how the new recording method played the role in the album's instrumentation and sound, and the interview sources about the making of the album revealed Matt and Kim's goal for the musical styles and lyrical content, which strongly relate to composition. 👨x🐱 (Nina CortexxCoco Bandicoot) 00:53, 11 June 2022 (UTC)
- The first paragraph is just background, has nothing to do with the composition of the album. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 08:34, 14 June 2022 (UTC)
- Oh, that part? On retrospect, yeah, you have a point. It's just some users find production to be a part of the background and composition, but I see these two being separatable. Fixed 👨x🐱 (Nina CortexxCoco Bandicoot) 22:15, 14 June 2022 (UTC)
- Souce for the first, second and third sentence?
- Refs 1 and 2 👨x🐱 (Nina CortexxCoco Bandicoot) 01:01, 11 June 2022 (UTC)
- second LP → second studio album
- they tracked in → they recorded in
- Done, although the two are synonymous 👨x🐱 (Nina CortexxCoco Bandicoot) 01:01, 11 June 2022 (UTC)
- It garnered accolades → which accolades
- Irrelevant and too off-the-focus from the subject. What matters is that they garnered accolades at these events. Plus, there are those articles to view which specific accolades. 👨x🐱 (Nina CortexxCoco Bandicoot) 01:01, 11 June 2022 (UTC)
- "Daylight" → wikilink
- "Block After Block" and "Cameras", in particular, → this is the start of the Composition section, put it together with the current third paragraph
- Not done for reasons stated above. Plus, this relates to Matt and Kim's claimed goal of incorporating hip-hop influences. It would be lame to do what you're proposing. 👨x🐱 (Nina CortexxCoco Bandicoot) 00:56, 11 June 2022 (UTC)
- "It would be lame to do what you're proposing." I don't get the point of calling a suggestion "lame", I would strongly advise you not to be rude. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 08:36, 14 June 2022 (UTC)
- Apologies. Bad choice of words. I did not mean for the comment to come across as a rude dismal. I just suggested the an article would be a little more uninteresting if the production and composition was treated disparately.
- Apologies accepted and we found a middle ground. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 22:41, 14 June 2022 (UTC)

- finesse is → are
- their child containing → their child, containing
- This is a typo. It actually has to be "childhood".
- to their hit "Daylight" → remove the word "hit" and unlink Daylight
- to their hit "Daylight", while "Where You’re Coming From" → to "Daylight". "Where You’re Coming From"
- synthesizer lines, and lyrically is optimistic → synthesizer lines. Lyrically is optimistic
- I've changed the sentence. 👨x🐱 (Nina CortexxCoco Bandicoot) 22:15, 14 June 2022 (UTC)
- The last source has 8 references inside of it, it makes it so hard to track information. Please divide and separate this according to the statements
- All fixed 👨x🐱 (Nina CortexxCoco Bandicoot) 23:55, 11 June 2022 (UTC)
- I will need to read this again after you improved this section

Release and promotion
[edit]- The next single was "Block After Block", released on October 28, 2010. → On October 28, 2010, "Block After Block" was released as the second and final single.
- at a press conference and was never released. → at a press conference, but it wasn't released
- There's already a "however" earlier in the sentence that serves this function. 👨x🐱 (Nina CortexxCoco Bandicoot) 01:12, 11 June 2022 (UTC)
- Can you rephrase the sentence then? MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 08:17, 14 June 2022 (UTC)

Reception
[edit]- Note B doesn't need to exist, three sources are more than enough to cover that sentence. See issues with "Pretty Much Amazing" below.
- Change the NME's review with the Spin. The former should be in the second paragraph, not the middle.
- Why? The entire second paragraph is about the professional sound, which NME's comment has nothing to do with. 👨x🐱 (Nina CortexxCoco Bandicoot) 14:10, 9 June 2022 (UTC)
- I didn't notice you organized it like that. Well done. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 08:23, 14 June 2022 (UTC)
- You should add all the reviews on the table, missing PopMatters, Entertainment Weekly, AllMusic and Consequence of Sound.
- Done. EW's review is just a summary with the grade score to mark it as a review. You'll find those a lot when you edit music-related articles. Plus, it's already used for the "Background and composition" section. 👨x🐱 (Nina CortexxCoco Bandicoot) 15:33, 9 June 2022 (UTC)
- Still missed AllMusic MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 08:24, 14 June 2022 (UTC)
- AllMusic is cited as part of a widely agreed opinion in a cite bundles, and used in the compositions section as well. Just because their publication isn't quoted specifically doesn't mean the review is not being utilized. It's just a method other well-written reception sections use to not turn into WP:QUOTEFARMs. 👨x🐱 (Nina CortexxCoco Bandicoot) 22:04, 14 June 2022 (UTC)

[edit]- Entertainment Weekly, Pitchfork, and Stereogum → only link the first instance
- MTV News → publisher
- Reference 21 is missing Metacritic on its parameters
- Pretty Much Amazing has raised some questions regarding its reliability, henceforth it should be removed
- Source check: 1-3, 16, 17, 21, 27 and Pretty Much Amazing
- What does this mean? Is something not in citation given? Plus Pitchfork, Stereogum and EW are definitely reliable sources 👨x🐱 (Nina CortexxCoco Bandicoot) 01:12, 11 June 2022 (UTC)

Overall
[edit]- Please let me know once you have addressed the issues. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 11:41, 5 June 2022 (UTC)
- MarioSoulTruthFan, responded 👨x🐱 (Nina CortexxCoco Bandicoot) 05:02, 14 June 2022 (UTC)
- I left responses. There is huge mess on the whole article regarding who produced the album. It is consistent with Ben H. Allen. However, the lead and the infobox state that it was also produced by Matt & Kim. The track listing only Allen and the credits by Allen and Matt...which one is true? MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 08:19, 14 June 2022 (UTC)
- Fixed the producer thing. Billboard states Ben H. Allen and Oliver Straus both produced it, and I have no clue where that Matt and Kim production credit from earlier in the article came from. 👨x🐱 (Nina CortexxCoco Bandicoot) 22:26, 14 June 2022 (UTC)
- You had Matt as a producer from the liner notes. On the lead, "The duo produced Sidewalks with Ben H. Allen." MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 22:32, 14 June 2022 (UTC)
- Actually, I misread the liner notes. He didn't produce, and none of the other reviews (such as from Billboard), list him as one. I've adjusted accordingly, removing Matt's name. 👨x🐱 (Nina CortexxCoco Bandicoot) 00:00, 15 June 2022 (UTC)
- Still missing Oliver Straus in the lead and there is still one thing to do, which I marked above. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 11:36, 15 June 2022 (UTC)
