Showing Up Production Start References - Is it ready for article

[edit]

Two sources indict that the film is in production and with today's full cast announcement I have no reason to believe it isn't. These sources are reputable. The film meets notability guidelines necessary for being in the main space. It's well written and amply sourced. The transition from draft to article is justified.— Preceding unsigned comment added by TheMovieGuy (talkcontribs) 02:15, 16 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please be cognizant of the dates that pieces report; it is very important. I verified that Variety Insight has updated its date (and status to "Production"), so it can now be used to verify the start date. Production list still fails to verify anything because it made the claim back in April and hasn't updated status after-the-fact, so I removed it since it doesn't provide any relevant info to the article anymore. Saying they were right since someone else reported it becomes WP:SYNTH.

Saying that any film in production is notable isn't exactly correct, though. First off, as the article stands now, there is only one source that is providing any significant coverage, and that is Deadline. Variety Insight can verify factual information, but it does not meet WP:SIGCOV or WP:NFSOURCES to show notability as there is no actual prose reporting—it is only a database of information, so we still only have one source (two pieces, but one independent source). If Variety or THR report on this as well, then that would meet the spirit of WP:GNG. WP:NFF overrides GNG, though, in saying that the production itself must be notable. If this were a film that had its release come and go, I would !vote to delete this since the WP:FRUIT of the existing sources is the production itself releasing casting information. All that said, since this is still to come, I'm less inclined to bother with another Draft move, but I wanted to point these things out. -2pou (talk) 02:53, 16 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This appears semi-useful from The Oregonian, but it is kind of an advertised casting call, and it still pre-dates the production itself... -2pou (talk) 02:53, 16 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
