[edit]

I would like to request a photograph of a person shouting or screaming.CholgatalK! 04:05, 28 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Removed malformed nom

[edit]

I removed the fac template from this page as the nomination was never submitted; I highly recommend a peer review first, and then perhaps WP:GAN, as this article is not close to featured status. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 16:42, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

this isnt very good

[edit]

Im not sure, but i dont think this is a strong enough article by itself. consider merging it somewhere? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.112.98.253 (talk) 00:59, 24 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Screaming is the opening of the lungs! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 119.224.10.164 (talk) 05:11, 30 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Article Deletion

[edit]

This article should be removed, as it has zero citations, none of its content is verifiable, and therefore should be deleted. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Netcompany3 (talkcontribs) 02:48, 13 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

World Record Update

[edit]

Alan Myatt's page states that his 112.8 dB record was broken by Major D.H. "Bob" Burns (113 dB). Vpw (talk) 20:22, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Very poor article

[edit]

The explanations are stated as fact with no references. The science of screaming is in fact very interesting with various explanations from evolutionary biology to neuroscience, and psychology. and this article makes a mockery of it. Also to claim only humans scream is just stupid.

I'd delete it, if I knew how. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 149.241.62.66 (talk) 23:53, 24 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

"Formatting" this article

[edit]

I think the article doesn't really reflect the complexity what this whole scream/shout action really means. Aspects like psychology , notes on the different scream categories, examples in arts, music, performance art and so on, are missing. I did write my whole Bachelor Degree on this subject, so would be really interested in restructuring this page and adding some research online. Maybe also change it's name into SCREAM, rather than shout? What do you think? Spezigirl (talk) 13:26, 27 January 2014 (UTC)Spezigirl[reply]

Oh please, please do! Red Slash 05:26, 29 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Shout (sound)Screaming – The majority of this article is on screaming, not shouting; also, it's WP:NATURAL disambiguation and a gerund, which is our normal practice at Wikipedia. The proposed title already redirects here. Relisted Calidum Talk To Me 03:35, 17 July 2014 (UTC) Red Slash 06:11, 9 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed merge with Raising one's voice

[edit]

Another form of "Hollering" or "Yelling". Dane2007 (talk) 19:02, 4 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Raising one's voice is simply that... yelling/hollering generally implies raising one's voice beyond a certain level. Granted that level is subjective, but I believe it would be erroneous to simply equate raising one's voice with yelling/hollering. 68.41.137.172 (talk) 15:37, 18 July 2016 (UTC) (What I mean to say is that yelling/hollering is a subset of "raising one's voice" and not the other way around.) 68.41.137.172 (talk) 16:04, 18 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I redirected it. There wasn't really anything to merge. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 15:32, 22 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Shouting

[edit]

I have created a disambiguation page for Shouting, which previously redirected here, but with which, apart from technicalities such as breathing, it has nothing in common. I suspect far more would be people would be looking for the computing and typography meaning. Doug butler (talk) 23:37, 7 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Reference 21 Leads to Error

[edit]

Reference 21 leads to an error; the article can't be found by clicking the link. Perhaps should be updated with a new source? Apologies for not fixing it myself; I'm new here. 99.139.220.60 (talk) 18:22, 2 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Literature

[edit]

In a Peanuts strip, Snoopy claims to have written "the longest scream in the history of English literature". Any substance to this claim? [[1]] -- 2003:E5:1705:2832:CD2C:A54E:16EB:99F2 (talk) 08:55, 24 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
