1984 Olympic drug testing

[edit]

Having just been sent the following article from the Los Angeles Times - I would like to state that it was NOT Shirley Strong!!

"The greatest number--157--were tested the day before the Olympics ended. The nine positives allegedly ignored came during the competition's last two days. Among the marquee events held in the final two days were the men's shotput, women's discus, men's 1,500, women's 100 hurdles, men's marathon and boxing finals." The full article, very interesting, can be seen at http://articles.latimes.com/1994-08-23/sports/sp-30338_1_drug-testing — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.13.90.170 (talkcontribs)

I've moved this out of the article as it seems quite out of context - how do we contextualise this in terms of Shirley? It seems too vague to link in on this page. Maybe somewhere on the Athletics at the 1984 Summer Olympics page instead? SFB 21:41, 14 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
