Royroydeb I am extremely sorry but the article does not look a GA to me, its need extensive expansion for a cricketer. I appreciate your enthusiasm but thats not the way to go for a GA nomination. First you've should have opted for a peer review or a discussion here at the article's talk page. Sorry again, but I think it might fail GA. Sohambanerjee199805:01, 27 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
This article mentions Shikhar as "Punjabi Khatri" without any citation. In fact, I had never found any article which claims him to be a Khatri. On the other hand, there's an ESPNcricinfo's article which mentions his caste as Jat. In fact, a few days ago, Shikhar also posted a picture of him, alongside Sardara Singh, on his official twitter account with the hashtag "#WhenJattMetJatt", although that may be because of the fact that his friends nicknamed him as 'Jatt ji'. Along with that, the Dhawan caste is found among Jats in North India. So, there are some evidences which suggests that his caste is Jat. But there's isn't any evidence which suggests that he is Khatri. And, thereby, it would be better to remove his caste from this article until there's a proper citation.--NitinMlk (talk) 04:57, 25 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
