I read her paper in the Journal of Economic Literature [Tiger Parenting and American Inequality: An Essay on Chua and Rubenfeld's The Triple Package: How Three Unlikely Traits Explain the Rise and Fall of Cultural Groups in America]. I don't quite agree with her point of view. First of all, I agree with her thinking angle and methodology, as well as some parts of [The Triple Package] that she pointed out that the logic is not rigorous enough. However, more than that, I think she lacks sufficient understanding and research on the living conditions and pressures of new immigrants, traditional Asian culture and educational concepts, especially the historical and cultural reasons for Chinese parenting and family education. At the same time, she lacks professional knowledge and discussion on education and family psychology. And the paper on tiger parenting was published in an economics journal, not an education journal. I think she should discuss and write about some areas she is familiar with and good at, rather than commenting on some articles and books that she lacks relevant professional knowledge and experience. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:681:202:72F0:693C:AFD1:7822:14E1 (talk) 08:38, 19 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
