[edit]Couldn't this [1] fit somewhere in this article? --A Sunshade Lust 06:15, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
This is concerning the parent company of Shell Canada, Royal Dutch Shell. I'm sure room could be made for it in RDS' article.Gunis del 05:17, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
I don't know where the writer gets his information. The statement that some of the local board members opposed the sale is false (hence I removed it). The board unanimously approved the $45 offer. The statement that it was about not having to deal with minority shareholders is misleading (removed that too). The biggest fundamental drivers for acquisition are - Canada is a good place to do business from a political, social and quality of work force point of view vs. other places (e.g. Russia, Nigeria) - The easy, conventional oil has already been found. There is a continuing, growing market demand for petroleum. This means that unconventional oil, particularly the oil sands in Alberta, becomes the marginal supply source and thus will sustain the price of oil at a level that makes investment in oil sands economical. RDS wants a big piece of the oil sands and their proven reserves - RDS was awash in cash allowing a debt-free investment. Sitting on cash was also detrimental to their return on investment
Fair use rationale for Image:Shell logo.svg
[edit]Image:Shell logo.svg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
