Reference formatting

[edit]

Here is an example of how the citations should be revised:

{{Cite web |title=The Los Angeles Times 28 Jul 1983, page 86 |url=https://latimes.newspapers.com/image/633665162/ |access-date=2023-04-15 |website=Newspapers.com |language=en}}

should be

{{Cite web |url=https://latimes.newspapers.com/image/633665162/ |title=[title of newspaper article] |date= July 28, 1983 |page=86 |access-date=April 15, 2023 |work=The Los Angeles Times |language=en}}

which will render as[1]

Since newspapers.com is the platform where the newspaper archives are stored, rather than the actual newspaper, the parameter "website=Newspapers.com" does not need to be in the citation. (I can't supply the title of the newspaper article, because the LA Times is behind a paywall).

Full documentation of the template and its various parameters can be found here. --bonadea contributions talk 10:45, 18 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I input all the Titles to each article, and on the page if you scroll down you can see a tab "Show Article text" to read and bypass the paywall just in case you have the need on a future endeavor. @Bonadea SofaKngJEDI (talk) 02:14, 10 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Context

[edit]

@SofaKngJEDI you've made great progress with this. Is there a way to phrase this/expand the lede so the unfamiliar user knows what raw means (bare? without tools? from the next). Trying to think of how to make it more clear to successfully bench press 700.9 pounds raw. Star Mississippi 00:11, 21 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

thank you, I can give a explanation of the term or I'll think of something. SofaKngJEDI (talk) 01:12, 21 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! I think that would be very helpful to the reader who might not be familiar with the industry, or Shear'Ree. Star Mississippi 01:33, 21 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
