Observations
[edit]- It is reasonably well written.
- Page has a bug: Link with encoded space
- It is factually accurate and verifiable.
- a (reference section): b (citations to reliable sources): c (OR): d (copyvio and plagiarism):
- Reference 1 requires purchase: it is a paywall resource: {{paywall}}
- Reference 2 is a DVD and may require the use of {{Cite AV media}} tag
- There are 7 references in the infobox. Consider WP:INFOBOXREF
- Reference 14 is undated as a URL and needs an archival link; There are 14 instances of usage of this reference. Apply the achival source to all instances.
- Reference 15 and all subsequent usages of (Michaels & Feigenbaum 2005) require the (subscription required) tag.
- Return to the WWF/E is blank. Discuss.
- Consider size of sections
- Consider significance of competitions and pay per view bouts; which federation is more important?
- Heartbreak Kid → proseline. [WP:PROSELINE]] is occuring in sections (particularly in Heartbreak Kid) → he fought this bout, he fought that bout, he lost this championship, he won that belt. The important achievements in each section are what is needed; that is all.
- The Heartbreak Kid contains too much material and should be whittled back to three paragraphs with highlights.
- The first part of WWF Champion (1996–1998) duplicates The Kliq and belongs in the paragraph above.
- Reference 60 is a dead link. Use the Wayback Machine
- Citation is needed for the "Sunny Days" comment.
- WWF Champion (1996–1998) suffers from proseline, bloated with he did this, he fought him, he won this, he wrestled there...
- "Raw is War". WWE Raw. Links go to the Wikipedia page and not the source. If the source is not accessible, drop all "Raw is War". WWE Raw links.
- Reference 76 is a dead link.
- Reference 80 is a dead link.
- Reference 82 is defective; website blocks access
- Reference 114 is a video, primary source, this video does not meet the standards for a reliable source.
- Reference 115 does not address the text. Archival link is needed.
- Reference 116 is a dead link.
- Reference 117 does not give the source.
- Reference 118 does not address the text.
- Reference 119, 120, 121, 126, do not address the text.
- Reference 125, 127 are dead links.
- D-Generation X reunion (2005–2007) has its own article. This section is totally bloated and suffers from WP:PROSELINE. We are not writing an autobiography here this is an encyclopedia. Consider that section may be pruned to three paragraphs.
- Reference 137 does not address the text.
- Reference 139 is a dead link
- Reference 141 does not address the text
- Reference 142 does not go to the source, it goes to the Wikipedia page for WWE magazine. Not acceptable.
- Reference 144 does not address the text
- Reference 145 is a dead link
- Reference 147 does not address the text
- References 148, 149 are dead links.
- Reference 152 is a dead link
- Reference 153 does not address the text
- Reference 156 is a dead link
- Reference 158 does not address the text
- Reference 158 requires subscription
- Reference 160 is a dead link
- Reference 163 is a dead link
- Reference 165 does not address the text.
- Reference 167 is a dead link.
- Section Various feuds and championship pursuits (2007–2009) suffers from WP:PROSELINE, basically a narrative of all bouts in this period. It can be trimmed back to highlights, three paragraphs max.
- Reference 168 goes to a blank page
- References 174, 176, 176 are dead links
- Reference 179 is a dead link;
- Reference 180 does not address the text;
- References 182, 184 are dead links
- Citation needed tag after reference 196 needs to be addressed;
- Austin and The New Day.[citation needed] tag needs to be addressed;
- Personal life reverts to calling Michaels by his birth name. Reversion is uncalled for as the last text section in this article. Edit to using Michaels.
- Reference 218 does not go to the source, it goes to a Wikipedia page. If the source is not found, this text will have to be removed.
- Reference 219 is a dead link.
- Reference 220 is a dead link.
- Book section references Michaels as Hickenbottom.
- Championships and accomplishments can be subjected to the Internet Archive Bot to verify all references.
- It is broad in its coverage.
- a (major aspects): b (focused):
- Much of this article relies on a single source: Heartbreak & Triumph: The Shawn Michaels Story
- It follows the neutral point of view policy.
- Fair representation without bias:
- This is an autobigraphy of a wrestler, not a neutral encylopedia entry;
- It is stable.
- No edit wars, etc.:

- Overall:
- This article receives circa 5000 views daily. It has a significant number of dead links or links that have been superseded and no longer address the text. The article suffers from WP:PROSELINE in that it resembles a record of very bout Michaels has participated in, and as such, does not resemble an encyclopaedia entry. Significant editing and paring down of the article is required, for it cannot stay in the current form of autobiography of a wrestler that it is. All references cited need attention, and there are too many images, some of which are noted as irrelevant or not necessary. The article is needing a full rewrite.
- Sections such as Heartbreak Kid (1992–1995), WWF Champion (1996–1998), First retirement and hiatus (1998–2002), Feud with Triple H (2002–2004), D-Generation X reunion (2005–2007), Various feuds and championship pursuits (2007–2009), WWE Hall of Famer and sporadic appearances (2010–2018) all suffer from too much text, too much data, WP:PROSELINE and can be trimmed back to three paragraphs each. --Whiteguru (talk) 12:21, 30 June 2021 (UTC)
Comments by Lee Vilenski
[edit]We don't generally suggest that dead links aren't suitable for a GA, or delist because the references are no longer live. See discussion at Wikipedia talk:Good articles/Archive 15#Exceeding the criteria for ref formatting and WP:DEADREF. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 13:06, 30 June 2021 (UTC)
