Photo

[edit]

Hello. I'm trying to replace Sharon Carpenter's current photo with another pic (that she owns the rights to) that I uploaded a couple of weeks ago. The image I submitted was taken down a few days ago and I was told that Sharon needs to send an email from her website granting permission for us to use the photo. She has done that and sent it to the address that was provided. What is the next step to make sure these photos are switched ASAP? Thanks. JaneJanis (talk) 01:23, 23 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

First I noticed you stated that Sharon Carpenter was "a client I work with". Do you represent Sharon Carpenter? If so you will need to review conflict of interest and if applicable, the paid editing policy(the latter of which is required by Wikipedia's Terms of Use)
I would just say that I don't see the issue with the photo; it looks perfectly normal to me- but it can certainly be changed if there is a better one. As this is a volunteer project, it will take time for those who deal with the permissions for images to sort through things. In the interim I see no reason to remove the photo. 331dot (talk) 01:34, 23 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I'm the photo uploader, and 331dot expressed my feelings perfectly. It looks fine to me, and I wouldn't have uploaded the picture if I thought it was harmful. That said, I'm not a professional photographer, and would love to have an even better one, but it needs to be freely released. Until the OTRS folks (the people corresponding with you via email) accept the image release for whatever one you mailed in, this photo is much better than nothing. --GRuban (talk) 15:15, 23 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
