Ratings

[edit]

@Aoba47: Saw you asking about ratings on Heartfox (talk · contribs) talk page. For the two May 13 episodes 10 PM: 0.142 million viewers, 11 PM: 0.136 million viewers. But that is from a user comment as it wasn't in top 100, so probably can't be used as source but can maybe help as reference to find in other searches.

I can't find episode 2 from April 17, as also was not top 100. But looking at current source for episode 1 on April 10th, its from USA today dated April 18th, I think those ratings should be episode 2(17th) maybe, and episode 1 is the missing one? They word it weird, mentioning Dance Mom: Miami debut, but that actually debuted April 3rd [1][2]. To make things even more confusing, the Dance Moms Miami wiki page was using the 17th ratings(same source) for both the 10th and 17th[3], but I fixed that. SS also didn't make top 100 for April 10.

Will do some more searching tomorrow. If you need any help with the review and potential upgrade, let me know. WikiVirusC(talk) 05:02, 26 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Actually looking at the two sources used for the other 4 episodes, the part they come from are at bottom "via Nick" who is same person who made the comment for the finale episodes ratings, it was just updated into the posts on these. So depending how you see, could possibly used that, since we are sourcing other 4 episodes to him anyways. WikiVirusC(talk) 12:45, 26 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • @WikiVirusC: Apologies for the delay. I have actually removed all the TV by the Numbers citations because I do not think Nick (i.e. a commenter on the website) would be considered a reliable or a high-quality source for a featured article (which has stricter guidelines about source quality, etc.). Thank you for checking the USA Today source for the premiere's ratings. The fact that it misattributed Dance Moms: Miami's premiere date is disappointing, and I believe it raises questions about the article's credibility with other numbers so I have removed it from the episode table and from the prose. This is likely a case where reliable, high-quality sources simply did not cover the show's ratings. It is important to remember that this was a smaller show on a smaller network so it did not get as much coverage as more high profile shows. I hope that answers your concerns and thank you for the messages! Aoba47 (talk) 23:47, 28 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Aoba47: In regards to the USA Today article, I believe they tried to compress down as much information as they could into a small blurb. The first sentence I believe is only comparing Love for Sail to Dance Moms: Miami's prior premiere. They both were Lifetime reality series, and Dance Moms premiered a few weeks prior, so I think they were just doing a comparison since it was Lifetime's next new reality show launch. The next sentence begins with "And against it", which is now only referring to the original subject of Love for Sail. This makes sense since Love for Sail also aired at 10pm like Shannen Says did, whereas Dance Moms: Miami was airing at 9pm that night. The only premiere they were talking about that night(17th) was Love for Sail, against the 2nd episode of Shannen Says, and the mention of Dance Moms: Miami premiere from the April 3rd was just for comparison. The number from USA Today should be reliable for the April 17 episode, both its unfortunate none of the others are available in RSs, particularly the premiere. Anyways thanks for the reply and good luck with the FAR when you do it. WikiVirusC(talk) 00:14, 29 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
