(04.08.05) Added information on Chrysler's official title for this hood treatment along with the more popular usage by MoPar enthusiasts. -Vhostok

(2006.Jan.30) Since the phrase "Incredible Quivering Exposed Cold Air Grabber" exists nowhere else on the web (at least according to Google), it's difficult to believe Chrysler (or even Chrysler enthusiasts) have ever actually used it. Do you have a source for this, or is it hearsay, or is just something a clever auto journalist thought up? -aduthie

With regards to the statement that due to aerodynamics, the shaker scoop does little or nothing at all to improve performance, I'll leave this input... The Fourth Generation Mustang GT, and Mustang Mach 1 have nearly identical 4.6 L V8 powerplants. Yet somehow the Mach 1, with it's so called 'ineffective' shaker scoop performs a second faster than the GT in the quarter mile. Of course this is just one example, I could name countless others, but this is evidence enough that the mentioned information is incorrect. (2009.May.5) I Agree with this comment too , I own one they work really good to ram that cold air down the engines intake while still shaking with the engine movement.

except that the 4th generation mustang GT and the mach 1 do NOT have identical power plants. the GT uses the 2V 4.6L V8 rated at 260 hp, and the mach 1 used a 4V 4.6L V8 rated at 305 hp, accounting for the difference. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.88.119.173 (talk) 00:34, 22 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
