Riding boots

[edit]

"(even in infantry regiments, as officers traditionally rode on campaign)."

My understanding is that in infantry battalions only the Lieutenant Colonel and Adjutant, perhaps with other battalion staff officers, were mounted. JF42 (talk) 10:27, 14 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Lack of context in Great War segment

[edit]

The Great War segment begins with "This was the standard combat uniform of the British Army at the start of the Great War". What was? Is that intended to refer to previous text? A photo? 2A00:23C7:1E11:6300:1198:4B09:2A9E:4F6F (talk) 13:48, 23 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

2.5 Royal Air Force

[edit]

Regarding that section, it is surprising to see it in this article. It would be easier to find and more appropriate if it was moved to the United Kingdom section of the article titled Service dress uniform https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Service_dress_uniform Dreddmoto (talk) 22:32, 29 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe, but note that the Royal Flying Corps was part of the British Army. Alansplodge (talk) 12:06, 4 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Alansplodge you made a good point. What should be done to that section? Perhaps adding a link to 1.2 Service dress of the Uniforms of the Royal Air Force https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Uniforms_of_the_Royal_Air_Force article? --Dreddmoto (talk) 01:01, 5 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Dreddmoto - link added, but to Uniforms of the Royal Air Force#Historic uniforms. Alansplodge (talk) 11:27, 11 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
