Hi guys. I'm working on this artice of this TV series for a limited time. Please help Wikipedia grow by expanding the article.
Thx -Dude
The first series and perhaps the second was narrated by CBBC presenter Angelica Bell. Could someone verify and include this without messing up the flow of the lead? - Mgm|(talk) 08:16, 20 April 2006 (UTC)
REPLY: I'm sure the first series was narrated by Katie Hill, not Kate Sanderson or Angelica Bell. The second could have been because I remember they changed the narrator. Snodawg 14:49, 12 August 2006 (UTC)
REPLY: It is on T.V now Serious Jungle is narrated by Kate Sanderson

Encyclopedic content
[edit]Hey, I think some of the content in this article is not very encyclopedic, for example the last line "Find out more when you see Serious Andes in Discovery Kids in mid/late 2007".
I don't know all of the wiki-rules and such, but I am fairly sure that we shouldn't be personally addressing the reader. Can someone with more knowledge on the article subject and procedures on wiki address this.
I also found a few errors regarding time: "challengers will do...", not "challengers did...". Also some informalities "Serious was back at BBC."
I would do it myself but I just don't know enough about the content to give an understanding of the readers.
Sorry if this doesn't make sense, I am a very random person and wrote things as they came to mind. THE DARK LORD TROMBONATOR (((¶))) 03:20, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
Reply: Hey, THE DARK LORD TROMBONATOR (((¶))), can you please help me change some stuff in the Serious (TV series) article please? I'm the only one active updating the article, I need some valuable help. I hope you will, thanks!
--Dudejerome 05:13, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
- I'll see what I can do, Dudejerome, but I have watched maybe three or four episodes of Arctic and Amazon combined, so I don't know a lot about the actual series or episodes or anything but I believe I am fairly good with guessing at what's right and what's not when it comes to the wiki-rules. *blush*. I'll edit off Wikipedia, and copy to your Talk Page so you can check for any errors I may have haphazardly created. THE DARK LORD TROMBONATOR (((¶))) 08:20, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
- OK... it's now ages later and nobody probably has been watching this page at all... until yesterday when I deleted most of it. HA! But it needed it and now it's a whole lot better. My work here is done. Probably. THE DARK LORD TROMBONATOR (((¶))) 04:46, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Seriousocean.png
[edit]Image:Seriousocean.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Last Names
[edit]It seems that some of the contestants do not have last names. Either that, or we do not have them in the article! Does anyone know where we can find these, to make it consistent? Otherwise we need to lose them for everyone. -- THE DARK LORD TROMBONATOR 04:28, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
Earlier today, I removed surnames of adventurers and details of their addresses to comply with BBC guidelines on protecting privacy of contributors. Please respect this and do not add the surnames back in, as someone has just done. Many thanks. textLaurencebaskind (talk) 23:47, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
- As you'll no doubt be aware, this is Wikipedia, and the BBC has no jurisdiction here, so please do not assume that their standards and guidelines have any effect here even if this is an entry about one of their programs. That said, there are no sources for the last names, and so I have no problem with them being removed. SynergyBlades (talk) 23:57, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
- To clarify, the last names must be reliably sourced. Blogs and IMDB are not considered reliable per WP standards. —C.Fred (talk) 00:02, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
To clarify further, removing surnames complies with child protection policy as practised by all responsible publishers, which certainly includes Wikipedia. Laurencebaskind (talk) 00:12, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
- Actually, WP:BLP is stronger than that; it draws no distinction between minors or adults. The relevant section of the guideline is Privacy of names. I'd argue that unless multiple reliable sources publish the names, or unless the participants go on to other celebrity (q.v. Julie Dubela, who competed on Endurance), it's best to exclude their last names. —C.Fred (talk) 00:18, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
- Indeed, I'm more interested in ensuring we follow Wikipedia's policies on the matter. SynergyBlades (talk) 00:21, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
Serious Ocean
[edit]I do not recall ever finding anyone's names. And there doesn't seem to be a source either. Where are these found? Cruise meerkat (talk) 05:02, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
Serious Amazon: Georgia Groome?
[edit]The last name Groome has been added to Georgia in the Serious Amazon series. The problem is, I can't find a source for it. Neither her IMDB page nor the interview used as a reference in her article mention it. Does somebody have a source that says affirmatively that she was on the show? —C.Fred (talk) 12:12, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
- According to her article she attends Trent College, which makes mention of her appearing in Serious Amazon here. SynergyBlades (talk) 18:41, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
