Speedy Deletion
[edit]I tried to fix this article, please let me know if it is still lacking information and I'll try to improve it.
- It would be better if there were sources not related to the subject of the article. As it stands, the only source is the personal website of Luque. Wikipedia policy requires, for a subject to be considered notable, the existence of multiple, independent, reliable sources about the subject. Happy editing, Goochelaar (talk) 21:54, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
- I have added requests for information on the awards that were mentioned in the article but the awards were then removed. Subsequently, I have added a notability template. I wonder if the user who actively edits this article can provide independent sources on this composer. I will leave a note also at her or his talkpage. gidonb (talk) 14:32, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
- I did erase the information on the awards because I haven't been able to find independent sources about them online. I thought of adding that line again until I find them. In general, I am working on finding independent sources on this composer, I already added quite a few. FWIW, I first created a mini bio about this composer, to have at least something on him in the Wikipedia. As his name appeared in another Wikipedia article (in Spanish), in red letters. That's why I started his entry. I thought of it as a way to gather more info about him.
- One thing, a couple of days before I added the information on his awards the "importance/significance" of the article was asserted by RMHED. So why, if the article as it is now is basically the same as the one judged significant by RMHED, is this article bearing a notability tag again? Even if, as of now, the article has more independent sources...

- Thanks for your time! Cgsanchez1019 (talk) 17:48, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
- I have been bold and have deleted the notability tag. I was the one asking for the speey deletion, but am now more satisfied than not about the notability. Information about those awards would not hurt, of course. Goochelaar (talk) 18:27, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
- I just added information about one award obtained by this composer. What to do with the notability tag? It appeared again... Cgsanchez1019 (talk) 16:49, 7 February 2009 (UTC)
Is Sergio Luque notable?
[edit]I'm debating Luque's notability, that's why i'm tagging his article accordingly Nubita (talk) 17:10, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
I have deleted the notability tag. A couple of days ago, I added information about an award, as Goochelaar asked whe he 'was being bold'. Regarding nubita's notability tag. It is an interesting topic of discussion to determine how notable can an experimental composer be and if familiarity with the subject or specialised knowledge is needed to establish his/her pertinency to the Wikipedia. I think it is an open discussion Cgsanchez1019 (talk) 13:38, 12 February 2009 (UTC)
