Clark's book?

from what I've heard, this name Sentinel comes from the book by Arther Clark by the same name where a "Sentinal" on the moon ends its signal to it's creator when it's discovered by humans —Preceding unsigned comment added by TMV943 (talkcontribs) 17:23, 23 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Isn't the example in section == Linked list == an example of a sentinel node — and NOT of a sentinel value — with all its characteristics ??
Such an example is already contained in article sentinel node ! --Nomen4Omen (talk) 14:24, 20 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
