Sentinel tree

[edit]

I have twice heard the word Sentinel refer to trees. Once in Final Fantasy XIV as a large tree overlooking a canyon, and in the prologue of Game of Thrones when a character is climbing one. Is this just a coincidence or can there be a page involving the link between the word Sentinel and trees? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.73.188.55 (talk) 14:19, 4 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Game of Thrones prologue:

The great sentinel was right there at the top of the ridge, where Will had known it would be, its lowest branches a bare foot off the ground. Will slid in underneath, flat on his belly in the snow and the mud, and looked down on the empty clearing below.

The word sentinel refers to a watchman. Perhaps the trees were named that because they overlooked somewhere? --Randomnessu (talk) 14:41, 19 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Sentinel for pets

[edit]

Can someone with more editing knowledge than me please consider adding a link to the Milbemycin oxime/lufenuron page: Sentinel for pets. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.53.120.166 (talk) 19:50, 29 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
